When you have searched the SPEEDBID auction sites and found something you would like to buy, you are ready to enter into the auction arena so long as you have registered as a SPEEDBID Member.

It costs you nothing to bid on items at SPEEDBID. If you are the high bidder at close of auction, then you have entered into a contract with the seller and must pay the seller directly.

Having registered with SPEEDBID you will be notified by email when:

1. You have placed a high bid.
2. At any time you have been outbid.
3. If you are the successful highest bidder at close of auction.

There is no restriction on the number of times you can bid on an item before the auction closes. Some bidders like to leave just their highest bid (which remains hidden) at the beginning. The time left for the auction to run is shown, both on the item page of the auction site, and also alongside any items shown if you do a search from the home page.

If you leave a 'maximum bid' then SPEEDBID bids on your behalf until your maximum is reached. This maximum is secret between you and SPEEDBID. You are not charged for this service. All bidding is FREE from auction charges.

Want to Buy It Now?
Some lots have a Buy It Now price and, if so, this will allow you to buy an item immediately without having to wait for the auction to end. This way you can buy quickly and easily. To buy an item for the Buy It Now price you simply bid the Buy It Now price. Note: For non-reserve items, the Buy It Now price will disappear once bidding starts. For reserve items, the Buy It Now price will disappear after the reserve price has been met.

A bidding form will be found below all items that have been entered for auction and bidding is very easy to do.

The bidding form tells you what to do as you go along.

What you will have to do is:

1. Enter the id you have chosen on registration
2. Enter the password you chose on registration
3. Enter the bid you wish to leave for the item
4. Click the SUBMIT button
5. See confirmation of your bid status

At this stage, if you are a high bidder, you will receive an email confirming your bid.

If at close of auction you are the winning bidder, SPEEDBID will notify both you and the seller by email, at which time you contact each other to arrange payment and delivery or collection.

The seller will have described on his auction page how he wishes to be paid and how the item will be shipped. You can see this before bidding, in case the seller's conditions don't appeal to you. Naturally a keen seller will make it as easy as possible for you.
